My apologies for the lack of creativity displayed in the title of this entry.
The past 11 days or so, I have been staying in Las Piramides, the place I had mentioned a week or two ago--and a place where the magic happens. And by magic, I suppose I just mean day after day of yoga, meditation, and learning about things like astral traveling. Yep, that´s right--astral traveling. Everyday (except Sundays), I wake up at an early hour for 7am yoga, take an hour or so for breakfast (usually a HUGE bowl of oatmeal complete with bananas, raisins, honey and cinnamon... yummm!!!), head to my metaphysics class at 10am which entails twenty minutes of silent meditation in the beginning of class, then return at 5pm for a half hour of silent meditation followed by various exercises led by the woman who began Las Piramides in the early 1990s. ALL of these classes take place in a large pyramid, I kid you not (I sleep in a pyramid, too!). And in order to get inside of this large pyramid, one must enter through a door to descend about 6 steps, pass through a white curtain to a hallway of about 6-8 feet in length, pass through another white curtain and crouch into another hallway of similar length but that is only about 4 feet tall, and then go up about 6 more steps, at which point one is officially inside of the pyramid. In the center of this large structure, there is a smaller pyramid with a ´crystal ball´floating in the top center. We each take our respective seats on one of the several white mats intentionally placed around the perimeter in a circle. At the beginning of each class, the doors into the actual pyramid (which are on the floor) are shut and a silk-like piece of cloth is removed from the center pyramid to reveal the crystal ball.
No, it´s not as cheesy as I make it sound if you have an open mind and the right mindset going into it. In fact, it is quite the opposite in my opinion because during these classes, you are forced to look deeper inside of you--and hopefully the real you--than most of us do in our day-to-day lives, always being so busy with work, school, or our families. For now I will spare you from any more details but don´t be surprised when, upon my return home, I have a new perspective (or at least new information!) on the significance of dreams, consciousness, traveling outside of our bodies, and life after death. I think this world is full of mysteries that many of us neglect to acknowledge just might exist... I suppose we all have our own explanations for what these things are, what they mean, or how or why they happen. If only everybody opened up their mind just a little bit from the realities that we, and society, have created for ourselves... I mean, how do you really know that something is really what it appears to be?
I suppose that´s where I will end for now.
